[dropcap type=”full” ]I[/dropcap] got invited to the grand opening of the Jaz Hotel in Amsterdam last week and I really wanted to write something about the hotel in Amsterdam where music, art and food all come together. It’s the place where you can meet the local artists and get inspired yet.
So if you are planning to visit Amsterdam make sure to put this hotel on your list of places to stay at as I think it’s quite a nice option.
So Jaz Amsterdam isn’t exactly a five minute walk from the centre of Amsterdam, but it’s only a short metro ride away, and located next to the Ziggo Dome and the Amsterdam Arena. Which makes it the perfect place to stay at after a concert or event at one of those venues.
The hotel itself also runs a variety of trendy and energetic events and packages that offer tickets to these events as well as an overnight stay at one of their rooms.
A friendly welcome note including a nice welcome gift were awaiting for me in the room.
The decor of the rooms are simple and yet appealing, with its modern design, and some rustic and hip accents like the artistic wood-esque panels behind the bed.
The bathrooms are clean and spacious. And with poetry written on the bathroom tiles they are winning over my heart.
I did not get a change to try out their gym but they have one available as well as a small spa. So all is there to get yourself pampered and in shape 😉
For the big opening they didn’t reduce on their food budget and I have to say Amen to that! Even though there was limited options available for the vegetarians among us, there was still plenty of good quality and fresh dishes prepared to by their friendly staff. Enough to ensure you of a full stomach ready for those party drinks!
The party itself was nice and well organised with good music and snacks and bites served throughout the whole night.
Breakfast and service in the morning where both quite good as well. There was a various range of fresh bread available besides fresh fruit, cereals and juices. The only thing I personally was missing was some gluten free bread or even some oatmeal. So for me the only thing left to eat where scrambled eggs and fresh fruit but still I wasn’t complaining. The live Jazz music (!!) at the breakfast table made up for it all. They also serve their breakfast until 1PM which gives you the opportunity to sleep in. Yay!
All in all I had a spectacular night and a few hours of blissful sleep in between the comfortable sheets of the Jaz in the city hotel in Amsterdam.
Thanks for having me!
