[dropcap color=”gray” ]A[/dropcap]s most of you know I’m a big sucker for vintage. Most of my favorite clothing comes from vintage stores. When I’m in Amsterdam I know my way around. But during my recent visit to the Netherlands, I decided to take a look at what kind of vintage stores the city Rotterdam has to offer. Together with my good friend @buenodivo, I went hunting and we made an entire day out of it.
We kicked off the day with a really nice meal at Nostra.
Top 4 best Vintage shops in Rotterdam
My first stop was Dear Hunter Vintage, and this was love at first sight. Not only is it a beautiful store they have a great collection of fine selected vintage. Beautiful coats, some good quality denim, and retro sunglasses. The prices are very respectable and the quality of the vintage is more than good. I love that it was just enough, so not too overwhelming. It didn’t take me long to go through it and walk out with a pair of nice floral pants that I will rock in Bali for sure! Definitely, a place I will go back to when I’m in the area.

Showroom 41 is one of the most special vintage shops I’ve ever been. The owners are two amazingly talented people and have created a pretty exceptional concept with this store. They both have been working in the fashion industry for decades, one as a very skilled hair and makeup stylist and the other as a talented fashion designer. Combining their passions with their love for vintage they created a vintage store with high-end labels like; Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Moschino and Celine, an in-house hairdresser and showroom. Besides vintage, you can also get yourself a one of a kind piece by L.I.O.N.E. the label of co-owner Lione Giessen and a fresh new hairdo. So this shop is a definite go to when in Rotterdam and looking for vintage and a bit extra.

Ruby Lee & The Vintage Factory
Ruby Lee & The Vintage Factory is yet another one that I loved to go to. I especially loved what they did with the interior and how they styled the place. Little details like vintage prose are things I, of course, have a major weak spot for. Not many high fashion labels to be found here, but enough good stuff to fill your closet with. Like the lace strapless dress that I’m wearing in the picture. I couldn’t resist buying it as it was too cute. I also ran into a beautiful winter jacket here that I didn’t want to take off. But since I currently live on a tropical island I decided it was best to leave the jacket for someone else who actually needs it.

Vintage labels by Hendrikus must be one of the cutest little shops I’ve ever seen! It’s run by Hendrik who has been passionate about vintage for almost his entire life. You can feel the passion in every little detail. From the store decoration to the selection of vintage. Outstanding pieces from high-end labels are ruling here. Of course, I fell in love with one of the most beautiful coats I’ve ever seen in my life but it was just too beautiful to buy it and leave it in my closet waiting for me to spend a day in the winter again. I have to admit it was so beautiful it almost became a reason to voluntarily spend a winter on its own.

And just like that Rotterdam became my favorite city to shop vintage! I usually don’t mind snooping around vintage stores in order to find some treasures but it does take a long time, so mostly it takes me a full day to go one or maybe two shops. What I noticed during my vintage visit to Rotterdam is the fact that most shops have a pretty good collection of vintage, saving you a lot of time to go through a lot of junk. Quality above quantity is what’s really going on in Rotterdam and I love it!
